Participants learn how to use ArcMap, ArcCatalog, and ArcToolboxand explore how these applications work together to provide a complete GIS softwaresolution. This course covers fundamental GIS concepts, as well as how to create, edit, andgeoreference spatial data. Attendees learn how to manipulate tabular data, query a GISdatabase, and present data clearly and efficiently using maps and charts.Arc GIS for ArcView 8.1 and ArcInfo, part 2 - This new three-daycourse follows Introduction to ArcGIS for ArcView and ArcInfo (I) and continues topresent important concepts and functionality for successfully working with ArcGIS. Withfurther exploration of ArcMap, ArcCatalog, and ArcToolbox, students focus on spatialanalysis, data automation of spatial and attribute data, editing, and advanced options forcartographic display and reports.ArcView 3.2 - This two and ½ day course provides a conceptualoverview and hands-on experience using ArcView GIS software. The course teaches basicArcView GIS functionality and enables participants to quickly take advantage of thesoftware's powerful display and analysis capabilities.

Participants are introduced to theArcView GIS graphical user interface (GUI) and use ArcView GIS to create, edit, display,query, and analyze geographic and tabular data and create presentation-quality maps andcharts. The final ½ day focuses on the application of GIS techniques to Maine dataAdvanced ArcView 3.2 - This three-day course offers experiencedArcView GIS users in-depth instruction in the software's ability to integrate geographicinformation. Participants move beyond the basics as they perform GIS analysis using thesoftware's total functionality including new geoprocessing tools.

The course helpsparticipants become more productive ArcView GIS users by teaching them advanced topicssuch as using sample scripts and extensions, converting themes into new map projections,and making projects portable. Realistic class projects and challenging hands-on exerciseslet participants immediately apply their newly acquired skills.The classes are lead by either Environmental Systems Research Instituteinstructors or ESRI authorized business partner instructors. The cost for the training is$250/day and registration for all classes is currently open. Class dates will be set whenthe registration reaches 10. The maximum class size is 12.
